G'day speculative fictions lovers upside and downside. Thanks for joining me for another session of mayhem and speculation. This is the AntiSF Radio Show for issue 179 of the online magazine, featuring all of the stories from that issue, plus more, including interviews and soundbites from this year's Aurealis Awards Ceremony and after-party in Sydney in May this year, which happens to be 2013. A huge shootout to all of the writers, fans, editors and speculative nuts that Beth and I met in Sydney. You know who you are, and you may well hear yourself on this show. Speaking of this show, what you are certain to hear is an interview with Cat Sparks, fiction editor of Cosmos magazine, and Daniel O'Malley, writer of "The Rook" which took out the Aurealis Award for best science fiction novel.

G'day speculative flash fiction lovers. Welcome to the AntiSF radio show 178, comprising an audio collection of all of the stories that appeared in issue 178 of AntipodeanSF magazine online. AntipodeanSF is all about speculative fiction downside up, and is just the place where flash fiction belongs. I'm Nuke, your host and editor. I'm not long back from the 2013 Aurealis Awards, and future issues will feature some of the audio interviews that I made on that night. A shout out to all of you that went along, all of you that I bumped into, and a special hello to those of you that I didn't bump into, and indeed those that I bumped into but did not recognise. How dare any of you change the colour of your hair. Weird lot these speculative fiction writers.

G'day lovers of speculative fiction from both antipodes. Welcome and thanks for joining me, Nuke, your host and editor for the AntiSF Radio Show for Issue 177, comprising five fine examples of speculative flash fiction, and two fifty word micro-stories. On this show you'll learn what it's like in the slow lane, discover the talent hiding in simple hirsuteness, work out just why you're afraid of mirrors, step lightly into the end of the world, and be illuminated by the eyes of a child. Not to mention be prodded about the benefits of mutation, and slide into the realities of a steampunk world.

Oh yes, don't forget folks. We will still be around for issue 200, and AntiSF will publish a bunch of fiction before then, so get those minds yammering, get the fingers flying, and send me those stories.

G'day lovers of Speculative Flash Fiction. This is the AntiSF Radio Show, right where it belongs, in audio - all of the best stories, many of them narrated by the authors who created them, all shaken up and stirred with fresh and unusual music that you won't hear on any other radio station in the universe.
But speaking of issues, wasn't there something missing from issue 175 of AntipodeanSF?
Did you Grok it?
Perhaps not. There weren't any stories missing.
Nevertheless, I felt it. The issue had a gaping black hole. Perhaps not a good way to start the new year.
Ever since Issue 121 of AntipodeanSF we've had a fantastic regular book review, every month, barring accidents, from our regular reviewer — Jan Napier. The only thing that ever held Jan back from submitting her monthly "Going Critical" column was when she broke both of her wrists. Ouch.
From Issue 122 onwards "Going Critical" quickly grew into an integral feature of this publication. Jan proved in that first review of "Dancing With Werewolves" that she could deliver on the name of the column that she chose, and continued to do it issue after issue. She lavished praise where it was due, and handed out brickbats when they were required, and she did it with an eloquence and style that often exceeded the merit of the works that she was reading.
Jan, unfortunately, decided late last year that she needed to focus on other things in her life. AntiSF, after all, is a relentless monthly magazine with an ogre of an editor that demands things get up online, on-time.
Let me take this opportunity, in this forum, to thank Jan for her excellent contribution towards the ongoing success of AntipodeanSF. We were all lucky to have the opportunity to read Jan's words. And if we're even luckier, we'll read Jan's words in other publications in future.

Don't panic. It's just another episode of the AntiSF Radio Show, this time around featuring the stories from Issue 174 of AntipodeanSF online, always found at antisf.com.au, or even antisf.com. Welcome, I'm your host and editor, Nuke, right here on podcast or indeed on Australian community radio. AntiSF and the AntiSF Radio show come to you from the beautiful Nambucca Valley, tourism heaven or hell, depending on your income, which is also the home of 2NVR, the best little radio station in the nation, which this year took out another Voxie, this time for community participation.
So, why not stay tuned now for your dose of participation. Speculative flash fiction, featuring selfish and narcissistic people, time travel for all the wrong reasons, winged creatures with a sense of irony, traps that may not be what they seem to be, and a just a little ossification.

Eight rotations of the Earth on its axis. The AntiSF Radio show is just a little unsynchronised. Despite this, and through the drought, the stories win through. Hi, I'm Nuke, your host and editor, and this is the AntiSF Radio Show 172, featuring all of the stories from AntipodeanSF issue 172, plus some.

Stick with me now while we visit a porcelain battleground, pay for our wrongs under the full moon, suffer from the grass is greener syndrome over and over and over, have a bit of an astronomical accident, underestimate cuteness, realise that change is a balance, and get just a little bit too comfortable.

G'day from the antipodes. Welcome, aliens and humans all, and thanks for joining me for the AntiSF Radio Show, the program that brings you weird short speculative stories along with weird new music, with a good percentage of both genres sourced from right here in the antipodes, where everything is rightside-downside up.

This show features stories from AntipodeanSF issue 171, online in September 2012. AntipodeanSF, what's that? Well, simply, it's the place where speculative flash fiction belongs. So here you are. You're in the right place...

Oh, it's you. Here we are again, both of us listening to the Antisf radio show again. Just you and me. The fact of the matter is that we're both in for it now. It's time for stories, all of them flash, all of them from the latest issue of AntipodeanSF, the magazine that has now issued itself 170 times.
One hundred and seventy issues posted to the web. And things have changed some on the net since AntiSF Issue 1, posted in February 1998.
Nowadays, the internet is mainstream. It is no longer a geeky realm. More and more publications are switching to electronic versions, tailored to tablet and hand-held reading devices. Congrats to Cosmos Magazine, for example, for producing a stunning i-pad version. I'm hanging out for the android version now.
Anyway, If I think about my reading in the past year or so, many more virtual pages were turned on my android phone than were paper pages in physical books. It's just so easy to carry 3000 books.
So — many thanks to Mark Webb for taking on the mammoth task of putting together the e-pub version of AntiSF each month. This is now the fifth issue to be produced in e-pub, and it's looking strong. I've received rather more than a little feedback about how good it is to read AntipodeanSF in that format, and I'm reminded that stand-up comedian Suzanne Ingleton once quipped that AntiSF stories "are great for the loo". Well, with electronics there is no paper to put to another use after you've read a story, but the medium is just as good at motivating and communicating ideas — and that is what it's all about, wherever or whenever you and I happen to be.

Welcome, speculative fiction lovers, to a universe with the first ever non-directional field, the so-called Higgs, Boson fans, and welcome to a cosmos with gravity and gravitas. This is the AntiSF Radio Show 169, featuring all of the fiction from the pages of this month's AntipodeanSF magazine, done for you in audio. Wherever you are -- enjoying in your car, enjoying a probe, enjoying a problem, or skating on the surface of a sun -- this is speculative flash fiction down under where it belongs.
This show features nine flashes into the unknown and uncharted. What if is the question. What's not under question is that I'm Nuke, your host and editor, and I really think you ought to stick around for the next little while, turn down the electric lights, turn up the campfire, and hold hands with someone, or something, you love.
In this episode you'll hear about tooth fairies, replicating circus performers, multiple black holes, life creation, book magic, christmas in space, and more black holes. Did I mention that gravity sucks?
