AntipodeanSF (speculative fiction)
AntipodeanSF podcast/radio show is devoted to the presentation of flash speculative fiction stories (science fiction, fantasy, and horror). AntiSF is where speculative fiction belongs -- downside-up!
The AntiSF Radio Show Cartwheel

Are you in the middle of a cartwheel? Chances are you are and you just didn’t know it. Only ours is called the Milky Way, black hole in the guts and all.

Welcome SF F and H fans. You know what that means. Thanks for joining me for another AntipodeanSF Radio Show, beaming at you from Nambucca Heads in this great southern land -- and it is indeed called Cartwheel. In this show you’ll hear two stories from Issue number 211 of AntipodeanSF online, the electronic magazine that’s devoted to downside up fiction of a speculative nature. You’ll also be treated to some local live music. And yes, we may even talk to the musicians themselves about the genre.

What would you do if a touch of rain made you feel a little strange? Would you follow your faith to the ends of the earth? Two tales here to question but possibly NOT give you the answers you expect.

Carina Dwarf by name, but our nature is to be the AntipodeanSF Radio Show, featuring mostly flash fiction, mostly written down-under, and always speculative — however we define that. Hi, I’m Nuke your host and editor, and welcome to this show which features fiction from two Aussie authors, one from the West, and another from the south.

Take a sip straight from the Carafe, but please don’t choke. You must remain sentient and aware in order to enjoy the coming stories in this very show, The AntiSF Radio Show Carafe. As big as a star universe, of course. You’ll never swallow it all.

But I’m being cryptic. Hi, I’m Nuke, your host and editor, and I’m here to share two stories with you from Issue 210 of AntipodeanSF online, always available at antisf.com.au. Or without the au, as you choose.

The AntiSF Radio Show BW Tauri

A holey welcome to you and yours. It’s the AntipodeanSF radio show BW Tauri, terminology that I will leave for to you to look up in our worldwide groupmind. Perhaps later. I’ll be your host for BW Tauri whether you go or stay, but the latter is the recommended course of action because along with holey music — and that’s holey with an “e”, you’ll hear about holes, perhaps black, and also about what’s on the mysterious log from Scavenger Marks Time. We’ve all been waiting for that. So...

Holes first, perhaps.

The AntiSF Radio Show Burbidge Chain

Greetings be with you, if not the force. Welcome and thanks for joining me, Nuke, for the AntipodeanSF Radio Show Burbidge Chain, in which we’ll have no chains at all. In fact, we’ll unleash the chains of your minds with two fine stories from the pages of AntipodeanSF Issue 210, recently online at antisf.com.au.

And if you missed it, why not grab the electronic reader version of the magazine for your device. Follow the link at the site to find all of our recent back-issues.

In the meantime, stick with me while we get robocalled and disneyfied in story, and catch some fine Aussie, Austrian and German music.

On with the show, feathered and non-feathered friends:

The AntiSF Radio Show Bode's

G’day all folks and critters, and residents of unidentified 12-foot tinnies with at least a touch of the love of specfic. Science fiction, Fantasy, Horror, no matter your genre, we have a little of it here on the AntiSF Radio Show Bode’s. I’m Nuke, your host and sometimes editor — perhaps just another name for a gatekeeper

The AntiSF Radio Show Black Eye

G’day flash speculative fiction fans. Welcome to the Black Eye edition of the AntipodeanSF Radio Show, a show that features bright Aussie music storyteller Rod Dowsett, who played for us live at 2NVR, in Studio 3, our regular live to air show beaming to the universe from the outer reaches of the Nambucca Valley.

I will talk to Rod about the science fiction in his Aussie Country music, but before we get there we will have some stories, and to keep the theme it’s three authorial Aussie blokes, with three speculative Antipodean tales.

The AntiSF Radio Show BL Lac

There’s nothing like being mistaken for a star, a status that BL Lac can claim. Far from it, he or she or it is an active collective with no absorption lines, in reality a quasi stellar radio object. Sounds like somebody I know.

Hi, I’m Nuke, your host and editor, and this is indeed the AntiSF Radio Show BL Lac, and an active collective we are.

The AntiSF Radio Show Bear's Paw

G’day. Welcome. Thanks for joining me for the latest AntipodeanSF Radio Show. I’m Nuke, your host and editor of AntipodeanSF the magazine, and the question is, what’s a Bear’s Paw doing lurking inside the constellation of Lynx?

While I don’t hope to answer that question, perhaps some of the fiction that features in this show, all of it from Aussie writers who have imaginations that reach much further than the aforementioned Bear’s Paw, will dig up even more questions that make mine pale into insignificance.

The AntiSF Radio Show Barnard's

G’day lovers of flash speculative fiction galaxy wide. Hi, I’m Nuke, your host and editor, and this is the AntipodeanSF Radio Show Barnard’s. Not the star. The collection. Right there in Sagittarius, slightly irregular, and about 1.6 million years away into the past as we see it.

Not in the past, but perhaps peeking into the future, is this episode, featuring two new flash fiction stories from the pages of a recent Issue of AntipodeanSF online — www.antisf.com.au, by the way — both by Antipodeans, and a flashback at the end of the show to a fabulous story from an earlier issue of AntiSF. Be prepared for heresy.
