Dare I say it’s a pile of Scheat? I do so dare, and I dare also say welcome to the AntipodeanSF Radio Show Scheat, podcast 125 if I’m counting, which I’m often not. Thanks for joining me. As Marie says at the beginning of each show, I’m Nuke, your editor and host on this here radio show.

Stick around for the next twenty five minutes or so for a fictional feast. I guarantee that you’ll go leaping for carbon, dioxide perhaps, find out who really needs equine animals, and identify the weird in a single gene by author name at least.

As for Scheat, it’s one of the four main stars in the great square of the constellation Pegasus, currently visible in the evening skies here in the Antipodes. We’ve had Alpheratz, this is Scheat, and four shows inot the future is Markeb. Which leaves Algenib to come As for Pegasus, the legend goes like this: Pegasus was born from the blood of Medusa after Perseus had cut off her head, and was afterwards tamed and ridden by Bellerophon. Being weary of earthly affairs Bellerophon attempted to fly to heaven but fell off, and Pegasus continued his course, entered heaven and took his place among the stars.

And isn’t that where we’d all like to be?
