Genre defines, but don't let that be a limitation. G'day and welcome, this is the AntipodeanSF Radio Show Alkaid, the most Eastern of stars in the Big Dipper, not a constellation that we're familiar with here in the Antipodes. We have Crux, though. And the crux of this matter is that I'm Nuke, your host and editor, and I'd like to thank you for joining me for the fifth of our shows in the month of November 2014, all celebrating Issue 196 of AntipodeanSF online, and including rather more than a few flashbacks to past issues and authors, something that's a focus here as we get ever closer to our celebratory Issue 200. But wasn't I talking about genre, and crossing the boundary? Let's take a science fiction horror, even if it doesn't sound that way to begin with (which is where the horror really lies, right there in the unexpected), let's also take a science fiction religious extrapolation and get it covered in irony, and let's see what we can do about science fiction humour and have a poke at manifest destiny all in the one show.
