Starstuff. It’s what you’re made of. You were once a star, and you may well be again. Welcome to the AntipodeanSF Radio Show, designated 188-2 Canopus. Ah, Canopus, F Type Supergiant Star, second brightest star in the firmament, around 300 light years distant. I yearn for you. And I can’t help but see you. There you are, somewhere in the constellation of Carina, the Keel, which happens to be the same constellation within which is the setting of one of our stories. Doesn’t mean it’s really anywhere nearby, though. Eta Carinae is more than just a few thousand light years further away than Canopus.
Speaking of yearning, though, you need do that no more, for here is your fix of flash fiction. Right where it belongs, on the radio and in your ears.
Even drop bears would know that in this week’s show we’ll hear a duopoly of fiction in which Rich Larson lets us meet the last in kind at Eta Carinae, while Tony Owens inscribes another dastardly plot with our favourite fictional character here at 2NVR, Klinko the Klown. Fiction aside, there is music, and some snippets of conversations and writerly silliness from the Aurealis Awards in Sydney in 2013. Don’t forget, the 2014 Awards are coming up with a rush, held in Canberra on Saturday April 5. Find out more at . Rock along and hear Fildenstar.
It’s a star of show, this one, really, isn’t it?
