AntipodeanSF
AntipodeanSF podcast/radio show is devoted to the presentation of flash speculative fiction stories (science fiction, fantasy, and horror). AntiSF is where speculative fiction belongs -- downside-up!
Alnilam

Alnilam is its name. In the belt of Orion, the constellation of the great Hunter in the sky, is where you'll find it. Blue supergiant, named after string of pearls, lighting up to a glow the molecular cloud that surrounds it, edging ever and ever closer to bursting into red supergiant or eventual supernova, reminding us that nothing lasts, even stars, or for that matter, heroes.

G'day and welcome to the AntipodeanSF radio Show Alnilam, wherein you will be regaled with stories, many new, one from the annals of AntiSF history. What can you do in seventeen minutes, what techniques would you use to win out, and how might you interpret dinosaurs in the Hollywood Hills. If you come out thinking that everything is a graveyard, then you are getting close.

Miaplacidus

Wherever you are, whenever you are, welcome. This is the AntipodeanSF Radio Show Miaplacidus, or "placid waters", if you can believe that of a star that has been parallax measured to be around 112 light years distant from our own solar system. AKA Beta Carinae, which just goes to show that everything deserves to be known as something else, especially in speculative fiction.

G'day. I'm Nuke, and I'm your editor and host. Leave those earbuds in for a while, and keep the bluetooth charged for the next half an hour while we tackle storytime. In this show you'll learn to scale the heights of narcissism, mine the ice for unexpected artefacts, and flashback to a song that you'll hope you never hear.

El-Nath

Greetings and salutations all. Welcome to Elnath, which is the second-brightest star in Taurus the Bull. It’s the closest bright star to the galactic anticenter – the point in space that lies directly opposite of the center of our Milky Way galaxy. Not to be bullish about this at all, though, since this is the AntipodeanSF Radio Show. It is also anti-centre. As am I.

Thanks for dropping by to listen to the show with me, Nuke, no matter your species or inclination.

Bellatrix

Greetings things, and welcome to the AntipodeanSF Radio Show Bellatrix, that female warrior star living inside Orion the Hunter near Betelgeuse.

Nothing happens in a vacuum, unless you count stars, galaxies, the cosmos — but that's not what I mean.

What I mean is this: AntipodeanSF still exists after sixteen years and runs strong towards its 200th issue (which will mark seventeen years of full issues) because of its contributors. Volunteers all, devoting their time to this ongoing project. Authors, AntipodeanSF is nothing without you. I cannot list you all here, but I can say this about other parts of this venture. Mark Webb, the ebook versions are not without you. Narration team: Beth, Ed, Mark, the other Mark, Richard, Paul, the other Richard, Gaines, Kathryn, Simon, Marg, and all of the "Imagine This" playgroup at 2NVR (amongst numerous others), the AntipodeanSF Radio Show would not be without all of you.

Thank you. Yes, you.

In the meantime, fellow listener, it's on with the issue, an amalgam of speculative material from issue 184 in this show and three more, that includes aliens, tyrannies, legalities, monsters, quantum fluctuations, births, icy worlds, narcissism, and the right stuff.
