AntipodeanSF
AntipodeanSF podcast/radio show is devoted to the presentation of flash speculative fiction stories (science fiction, fantasy, and horror). AntiSF is where speculative fiction belongs -- downside-up!
Alkaid

Genre defines, but don't let that be a limitation. G'day and welcome, this is the AntipodeanSF Radio Show Alkaid, the most Eastern of stars in the Big Dipper, not a constellation that we're familiar with here in the Antipodes. We have Crux, though. And the crux of this matter is that I'm Nuke, your host and editor, and I'd like to thank you for joining me for the fifth of our shows in the month of November 2014, all celebrating Issue 196 of AntipodeanSF online, and including rather more than a few flashbacks to past issues and authors, something that's a focus here as we get ever closer to our celebratory Issue 200. But wasn't I talking about genre, and crossing the boundary? Let's take a science fiction horror, even if it doesn't sound that way to begin with (which is where the horror really lies, right there in the unexpected), let's also take a science fiction religious extrapolation and get it covered in irony, and let's see what we can do about science fiction humour and have a poke at manifest destiny all in the one show.

Wezen

G'day fellow lovers of speculation in fiction. This is indeed the AntipodeanSF Radio show, this one designated Wezen, yellow supergiant of the constellation of the big dog, almost 2000 light years away as the radio and light and x-rays fly. They're not getting this show yet.

Are you? Thanks for joining me, by the way, I'm Nuke, host and editor, and this show features exclusively flashback material from past issues of AntiSF. Stick with me to hear them narrated for the first time ever, and I promise to elucidate something about the mating season, to help you get absolutely nothing out of homeopathic warriors, and give you some cringe about dimensional excrement.

Mirfak

Warning. Speculative fiction is liable to get inside your head. That's a dangerous place for anything to be. So do be careful. Some of the stories in today's show may have that tendency. This is the AntipodeanSF Radio Show Mirfak, brightest star in the constellation of Perseus, a supergiant in the last stages of its evolution. Stars evolve? Of course they do. Some of them into radio programs.

Kaus Australis

Salutations, fellow lovers of speculative fiction. Hi, I'm Nuke, the host and editor of this show, which happens to be the AntipodeanSF Radio Show Kaus Australis. Working our way down that star list.

We're also working our way through the stories from Issue 196 in this month of November, which also happens to have five weeks, so we will feature a number of flashbacks in later shows. Today, though, three features from the pages of 196 in which are scavenged large potato rocks, perhaps wet with hot water, causing us plenty of sadness and grief that may require counselling.

Dubhe

Greetings, flying potatoes and all, it's Radio Show Dubhe, from Issue 196. Strike, Issue 200 looms with a vengeance — and it's coming together well. There's still room for more, though, and I urge you all to get those submissions in soon. Perhaps you and your story will be selected to form a part of the celebration of Australia's longest running online speculative fiction e-zine. I'd especially like to see submissions from those with first-time publication credit with AntiSF. There are many of you out there. Similarly, I'm calling for submissions from those with a former history of regular contribution. In the meantime, it's storytime for fiction from Issue 196 of AntipodeanSF.

Welcome and thanks for joining me. I'm Nuke, your host and editor, but please don't let me be your guide. You're on your own here in the realms of speculation, and it's down to you to work out whether you'll get your money back, discover the gods of the gaps, or meet the mushroom cloud of alternate history.
