AntipodeanSF
AntipodeanSF podcast/radio show is devoted to the presentation of flash speculative fiction stories (science fiction, fantasy, and horror). AntiSF is where speculative fiction belongs -- downside-up!

G’day and welcome to this AntipodeanSF Radio Show, designated “Grus Quartet”. I’m your usual host and editor, Nuke, and if you stick with me for the remainder of the show I promise you’ll have heard at least two good stories, one of them new, and one of them from AntiSF’s very first foray into audio story presentation on the web back in the year 2001, so it’s a Flashback. We will also close the show with the last of the audio from the panel at Contact called “Dead Ends & Red Herrings”, with a number of audience questions, spawning various rambling answers. As for the Grus Quartet, it’s a group of four large and rather close, therefore tidally interacting galaxies. Things are churning out there.

The AntiSF Radio Show The Garland

Live long and prosper, fellow speculative fiction lovers, and stay tuned to whatever channel or audio source you’re currently on because it’s time for the AntipodeanSF Radio Show “The Garland”. Hi, I’m Nuke, your host and editor, and here we are with two stories from the pages of AntipodeanSF online back in issue 213 in April 2016. And about the Garland, well it’s appropriately strange, a dwarf collection of knots of blue stars in what’s known as the M81 group.

Appropriate, these strange things in the skies. Stick around, though, for some strange happenings in a couple of stories under our skies.

The AntiSF Radio Show Fourcade-Figueroa

G’day and welcome to the AntipodeanSF Radio Show Fourcade-Figueroa, a faint cousin who probably dared to tangle with Centaurus A in the past and came out of the encounter somewhat shredded. I’m your editor and host, Nuke, and I think that’s a good description of what our own encounter with speculative fiction should do to us — tangle and shred the mind, but leave us intact to regroup and shine.

In today’s show, those dodgy metaphors aside from me, you’ll hear two stories from Anti-Antipodeans, one of them about human resources in the face of progress, and the other possibly about human resources in the face of an unusual setting. Later in the show we’ll hear more of the panel discussion about crime specfic from Contact 2016 in Brisbane, during that astronomically-based event, Easter.

For now, though, let’s have some stories. That’s what we’re all about, after all.

The AntiSF Radio Show Fornax Dwarf

Greetings and salutations fellow specfic lovers. I’m your host and editor Nuke, and this is the AntiSF Radio Show Fornax Dwarf. Of all the dwarfs hanging around the Milky Way it is intrinsically one of the brightest, but it’s so far away that the light we see now left the galaxy back in the Ordovician era, when Nautiloids ruled the seas and a mass extinction event was about to turn life on earth in a different direction. So it’s not so bright.

Not sure that’s really where I wanted to go with this spiel, but let’s stick with it, anyway. Not so bright. Well, that’s almost the opposite of what I want to say when it comes to the contributors to AntipodeanSF. Always bright, they are, although I must admit that sometimes the underlying message of their words may be hidden in darknesses.

Anyway, now that we’ve seen the darkness, as opposed to the light, why not stick with me now for the next half an hour or so for two stories from the pages of AntipodeanSF online, one that questions our questions, and another to question the motives of us and the other. We’ll also hear a segment from a panel at the recent Aussie National SF Convention “Contact” in Brisbane about crime in speculative fiction.

On with those stories though, and we hope we’re not 460 million years too late.
