AntipodeanSF
AntipodeanSF podcast/radio show is devoted to the presentation of flash speculative fiction stories (science fiction, fantasy, and horror). AntiSF is where speculative fiction belongs -- downside-up!
Mimosa

Do you experience something other than understanding when you hear the word Mimosa? Are you a synaesthete? On the other finger, perhaps you've seen or touched a mimosa pudica, also known as a "sensitive plant", a plant that closes its leaves when they're touched. That' s nothing to do with the reason that this episode of the AntipodeanSF Radio Show is called "Mimosa". Focus on the star. Focus on the fiction. Grab a glass of neutron star and drink slowly.

Welcome, I'm Nuke, as you know from the intro, and thanks for joining me for a half an hour of speculative fiction, a movie review, and a segment of a longer chat with some of the leading edge editors in the Australian SF community, during which we find out what's coming up for Ticonderoga and Fablecroft, gain a glimpse in who is and isn't poaching writers, not like eggs we hope, and have those aforementioned stories and a poem, and perhaps a review. Seems I've been to the movies rather more of late. Let's blame the cold hemisphere weather.

Deneb

It's the AntipodeanSF Radio Show Deneb, swanning about in the constellation Cygnus, this wonderful star featured in a story I wrote back in the dark ages, 19th brightest star in the Earth's night sky, but one of the brightest stars white hot stars in the Milky Way galaxy, thousands of light years away yet still so clear and steady, like some writers I know.

Welcome travellers. Please settle into your shoes or your gloves and listen up. I'm Nuke, host and editor of AntipodeanSF, and we're about to step into the deep. We're also about to be happy, really happy, no really, really, really happy. And then we're going to hear an interview with the wonderful Kathryn, listener to this show, contributor to the magazine, and narrator too. What a talented young woman, and what a life she has making fairy floss.

Fomalhaut

The AntipodeanSF Radio Show Fomalhaut is here. Shiny, bright, in stereo, with flash fiction of intrigue and wonder. How to you perceive gifts that are not as we perceive them? Can you imagine feline rectal incursions? Would you deign to live other than on the edge of death? And is there room for it?

As for Boutique presses, are they Indie or not?

Questions, so many of those today. Perhaps because it's the day after the solstice, shortest day of the year, all the way up from here.

G'day, I'm Nuke, your host and editor, thanks for joining me for this show, Fomalhaut, and for what is a fix of flash fiction for both of us.

Pollux

G'day illustrious lovers of speculative fiction, be that science fiction, fantasy, horror, or anything else really — any story that asks "what if?", does its best to be subversive, overturning or just plain sideways and upside-down at the same time. This is, after all, Antipodean Speculative Fiction, and this is the radio show, episode Pollux, the first of four to feature all of the fiction from Issue 192 of AntipodeanSF online.

Beta Geminorum aka Pollux is an orange giant, one of the twin stars of about the same brightness that feature in the constellation of Gemini. Thirty three years in the past as we see it. As we see it, however, isn't necessarily how you see it. Stories have meanings that you and I must individually decide are there, so lets see how we fare with this lot. In this episode you'll learn something about GIGO, get your gender set bent, hanker to be involved in the start of a new religious cult, and be coy on a strange and wonderful nowhere island.
